What I learned today + some slot canyons

One of my new years resolutions was to consciously learn something new almost every day. Well, today I learned that new years resolutions are easy to forget. I haven't done that for a few weeks now. Oops...
Also, I never put up a picture of the slot canyons. Here is one, and me in one.

Isn't it pretty? (ok, I have to admit... this one I stole from the internet...Shhhh)

Crazy how the walls are so close huh?

In the darker part (where is the sun??)

Ahhh to see the light

If wishes were horses...

Can you believe that a whole week has gone by since spring break? A whole week. Where did it go? I still haven't finished my story about spring break either.
I'm coming to the realization that "good" blogging takes a lot of time. And I realize that these days I just don't have a lot of it. Or, I prioritize my time and "good" blogging gets shafted.
"Good" blog? Good - as in thoughtful, purposeful, interesting, and amusing thoughts being nicely melded into the perfect blog. Ya, that's not me. I'm more of the shorthand, straight-to-the-point kind of person. Is that what medicine is teaching me?

p.s. With a horrible week to look forward to, I'd so much rather be on a beach somewhere. Wouldn't it be nice? Soaking in the sun rays, splashing in the salty foam?

probably

Ben, you read my mind. Of course you're going to get pictures! How could you not. What a great view, eh? Here's a few...

Probably Not

I did not miss classes at all over spring break. In fact, as I was traveling on the bumpy road that leads out from Blue John Canyon (which knocked apart my car's exhaust, but that's another story), someone mentioned that they had a lot of homework to do when they got back. For a second I was confused, but my confusion soon turned to elation when I realized that I had completely forgotten about school. It just seemed like I lived there in Moab, Utah and that my life was full of exploring canyons, climbing large pieces of rock, camping, and rappelling off ginormous arches. What a great break.
My roommate and I went along with 7 guys to Utah to do just those above mentioned activities. After the 12 hour drive we arrived at our campsite around 5am to quickly crawl into our bags and snooze. When I opened my eyes later in the morning light I was awed by the massive rocks just in front of me! And then awed even more when I realized how incredibly blue the sky was.
I broke out my new rock climbing shoes after breakfast and tried my first ever climb. (Imagine, I have climbing shoes and have never even been on a climbing wall before). The experience was amazing! As I was gripping onto the rock with the terror of falling causing my whole body to shake, I realized that this was...

serenity

I love snow. There's just something about walking out in the snow that makes me feel so peaceful. Everything is clean and, besides the squealing tires, quiet. Driving, on the other hand, isn't so peaceful. Spinning, sliding, and fear of being crashed into just doesn't give me the same feeling. I walked this morning because my car was under a pile of snow. I even had to put on my boots for tromping through mid-calf white fluffiness!
