Goodday

I went horseback riding today.
So Nice.
It was fun and just really great to be on a horse. The weather was perfect - short sleeves - and the horses were fun, energetic, and I love the smell. (kind of weird, I know) It was so relaxing and refreshing to be out there.
Then I went to choir practice where we are all practicing for the Christmas program coming up quickly. I haven't sung in a choir in a while and it is great to feel part of a team working together for a goal.
Refreshing.
Tonight I also went to a bonfire out at a friends house where I roasted marshmallows, played guitar, and sang. So nice. It's been a good day. Nice, considering that I've had an awful week. So, I'm winding down the evening sipping on some sleepy time tea with my feet up in my favorite chair with Kitty sleeping on my lap, campfire smell lingering on my clothes. Could it get any better? I'm sure it could, but I'm going to pretend that it couldn't.

Someone swore at me.
He was angry at the world.
Really now.
I actually got mad.
I'm a little bit embarrassed that I allowed someones harsh words to cause me anger.
Granted it was brief... but still.

It's been a hard week. Body aches, fever, non-existant air movement in my nose, working long hours, not enough sleep, nose dripping uncontrollably (even though I can't breathe through it). Job stress, no time at home, headache that won't go away, messy house, bills bills bills.

Then came sabbath.

Praise God for Sabbath. Slept plenty, went to church, sang, had lunch with friends, hung out, went horseback riding, saw a pow wow (whoa cool), birthday party for friend, flirted with Greg, read, slept plenty again, cold is starting to go away. Things are looking up.

I'm off to Canada on Thursday as well.... oh boy

Danny Davis in Ardmore, OK

Danny happened to be passing through from TX to MO to NE, and he stopped in for a visit! (haven't I been blessed with visitors?) I was still at work when he arrived so I had left him my key in a secret spot so he could make himself at home. It was at least another hour until I came home and in that time he had found my camera and very sneakily took random pictures... they made me laugh so much when I first saw them (much later after he left).






and then we cooked and cooked and cooked. Ah what a feast we had. Delicious delicious...




Oh it's good to hang out with people that you can just pick your friendship right up where you left it. Like we'd seen each other tuesday. I like that.

Justin was here this weekend! He came in on Friday afternoon. We ate chinese food, went to lake murray, petted some horses, tried to go for a hike... but it was soooo muddy, then ate more chinese food and then...

I went riding today. Yes. Horseback riding. The weather was 50 and sunshine. The horses were great. I rode three different horses today. I've found two people down here who I can ride with so far! So, today after I rode Mary's horse and Tommy's horse (located at the same place)... I went and rode Lark's horse too(elsewhere). I am so spoiled. They don't know about each other yet. Do you think I'm two timing?

In other news, I made salsa tonight! It is my second attempt and it's already turning out much better! I can't wait for it to cool. It has tomatoes, peppers(three kinds), onions, cilantro, garlic, and salt. It's tasty, and spicy.



I think I'll eat it for breakfast tomorrow. Mm.

I was at church today when the little kids were up front signing for a song. They were so cute! I went to take a picture and my memory card was full, so I switched it out for another one... it was full too. My last memory card was also full. Its time to download.

My patients were horrible today. This one in particular:

Admitted at 2am, then complaining that she hadn't been yet (it was 10am)

Then... when I did see her she was so irate that they used the F word.
would not listen to anything I had to say
Crying, yelling, irritable
Even though her condition is serious refuses medication because it causes weight gain. (if taken for long periods of time) (she's not fat)
angry because she couldn't smoke
didn't want a patch
family irritable and angry
still wouldn't listen to what I had to say.
Would shake their heads and be defensive the whole interview.
Expect me to know all of her symptoms even though she hadn't told me
after they talked to me, patient left AMA (against medical advice) before I could do any discharge orders.

Stayed in the hospital less than 18 hours

Has condition that is fairly serious.

So frustrating.

Won't stop smoking even though it worsens her condition.

Bah.

She'll be back. This next time she will probably need surgery taking out a section of her colon.

My internet kind of turns off and on whenever it wants to... it's rather frustrating. So, just when my video is 1/2 way uploaded... my internet cuts out and that is why you do not have a video below. A great video... Perhaps later. :)

Day to Day

I know I haven't blogged for a while and I really feel like I should catch you up, but. I'm not going to. I'll just start here.


I didn't get out of bed until 130 this afternoon. It was beautiful. I've been working a lot these days, but I had this weekend off. I went to church where the Oklahoma Academy was giving a concert - choir, string quartet, and handbell choir.

Last night I played Risk for the first time ever. It was so addicting the four hours went by in no time.

Then came slaughter.

I had taken over all of Africa, South America and was in 1/2 of Europe, but in one fell swoop, I was dethroned. Not only dethroned, but comnpletely wiped out. Seriously? I was a threat! I was powerful! Then someone turned in their cards, got 45 men and slaughtered me. The game was much more boring then.


I paid bills online today. I feel so proud.


I'm watching my kitty dig the last few crumbs out of her bowl. She's getting fat. Not fat, but comfortably squishy. She is readjusting to her new feeding schdule quite nicely. You see, she used to have food ad lib - full bowl all the time. But then while I was gone to Ontario over christmas, she gailed about a pound or two, which is a lot for a little kitty. She now gets fed just a bit in am and some little bit more when I get home from work.


I've been on the phone with my mom. I have written this whole blog while I was on the phone just saying a few uh-huh's and oh's. Please don't tell her.
